ALTERNATIVE ROUTE ACTIVATED - SDT

FOR SAFETY REASONS, THE RACE DIRECTION HAS DECIDED TO ACTIVATE THE ALTERNATIVE TRAIL OF THE SDT RACE

The safety of runners, volunteers, and teams is our top priority. For this reason, an alternative route has been designed to allow participants to fully enjoy the race in complete safety, while preserving the spirit of the SDT.

The race modifies the first part of the course. The SDT will start from RAIXA (not from Estellencs) at the same time (10:00 PM) and will then follow its original route all the way to the finish line.

Three new sections (extensions) have been added to the course, which also implies modifications to the aid stations.

Two sections (extensions) have been added to the race, which implies a modification of the aid stations.

The additional sections are:

  • The Bunyola aid station is moved to La Comuna de Bunyola, at Cas Garriguell (not accessible to companions), and a new aid station is created at Els Damunt (near Alaró).

  • After Fornalutx, the route is extended towards the Comuna de Fornalutx, with a new aid station at the Mirador de ses Barques.

DESCRIPTION:

125km | 5,020 m+ | 4 Running Stones | Qualifying for the UTMB® by HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc

The race will start at RAIXA and the course will take you through Bunyola, Orient, Alaró, Fornalutx … villages steeped in history that will mark your journey as you cross the magical Serra de Tramuntana, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You will pass iconic places such as Tossals Verds, the surroundings of the Sanctuary of Lluc, and the imposing Cúber reservoir.

From the highest points, you will admire Puig Major, the roof of Mallorca, and in other sections you will run through lush holm oak forests, cobbled paths, and ancient dry-stone walls that have shaped the landscape for centuries. You will immerse yourself in a unique natural and cultural environment, where the sea, cliffs, mountains, and soulful villages will accompany you kilometer after kilometer, until you finally reach Port de Sóller.

IMPORTANT:

  • Cut-off times have been modified and adjusted to the new race conditions. Please check the updated schedule before starting the race.
  • Organization transport will keep the same timetables and stops, and will head to the start at RAIXA.

Although the alternative route may present slight variations in distance or elevation gain, it still meets the criteria for its assigned UTMB® distance category. Therefore, all finishers will receive their corresponding Running Stones, as established in the official UTMB® World Series regulations.

Thank you for your understanding.
