A very well connected island Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands, an archipelago located in the western Mediterranean. The most convenient way to travel to the island is by air, as the international airport of Palma de Mallorca offers an excellent connection to other Spanish and European cities.
IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING BY PLANE:
The easiest and fastest way to get to the island is by plane, as Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), also known as Son Sant Joan International Airport, is the third most important Spanish airport and one of the best connected airports in the Mediterranean.Destinations and airlines HERE
With over 70 airlines operating at the airport. The main European capitals are less than 3 hours away by plane, Madrid is 1 hour away and Barcelona 30 minutes, approximately.
IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING BY BOAT:
Mallorca has two ports intended for passenger traffic: the port of Palma, the main island, and the port of Alcúdia. Three companies currently connect Mallorca to other Spanish ports (Barcelona, Valencia and Denia) and to the other Balearic Islands (Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera). It is also possible to reach our island by sea from France (Toulon).
PORT OF PALMA
Palma is connected to Barcelona, Valencia and Denia. The journey to the peninsula lasts between 6 and 8 hours depending on the destination and the type of vessel.
PORT OF ALCÚDIA
The Port of Alcúdia is located on the north coast of the island of Mallorca in a bay of the same name. It is a popular place for many Mallorcans and one of the busiest tourist areas.
GETTING AROUND THE ISLAND
You have several options for getting around Mallorca: public transport (bus or taxi) or private transport (car hire).

IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING BY BUS
Travelling around Mallorca by bus is possible, but only between the main towns. Mallorca has a public transport network managed by Transportes de las Islas Baleares (TIP), which connects Palma with the main population centres on the island.

IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING BY TRAIN:
The island has three main train lines, all of which depart from Palma de Mallorca's Intermodal Station, located in Plaza de España.
- The T1 is the line that ends at Inca Estació and covers a large part of the north of Mallorca.
- The T2 goes to Sa Pobla, one of the most important towns in the east of Mallorca.
- The T3 goes to Manacor, a town that serves to explore the south of Mallorca.
