Cancellation of the M5000 and M5000 Relays Due to Orange Alert Activated by Aemet

Due to the adverse weather conditions forecasted for Friday, November 1, the organization of Mallorca by UTMB® has decided to suspend these two events. The other events scheduled for Saturday, November 2, and Sunday, November 3, as well as the SDT, which will start on Friday at 10:00 PM, are currently unchanged. In light of the challenging terrain and weather forecasts, Mallorca by UTMB® prioritizes the safety of participants and deeply regrets any inconvenience this situation may cause.

The organization of Mallorca by UTMB®, in coordination with the Direcció Insular d’Emergències of the Consell de Mallorca, has decided this Thursday to cancel the M5000 and M5000 Relays, which were scheduled for Friday, November 1, due to the declaration of an orange alert by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

After a thorough assessment of the climatic conditions, the Race Management has decided to prioritize the safety of all participants, volunteers, support staff, and attendees, as the weather forecasts indicate adverse conditions that could jeopardize the safety of those involved. The organization recommends that runners do not attempt these courses independently.

However, M5000 and M5000 Relays participants will still be able to pick up their runner’s bags at the Ultra-Trail® Village located in Parc Infante Lois, in Port de Sóller.

Other Events Remain Unchanged

At this time, the other distances remain unchanged, including the SDT, which will start on Friday at 10:00 PM, the ETM, which will depart from the town of Sóller at 7:00 AM on Saturday, and the Kids Race in Port de Sóller starting at 10:00 AM.

On Sunday, the CDA will start at 9:00 AM from the town of Valdemossa, followed by the Joves Promeses at 9:15 AM.

Given the challenging terrain and weather forecasts, Mallorca by UTMB® prioritizes the safety of participants and sincerely regrets any inconvenience this situation may cause.
