The SDT changes its timetable and route
Faced with an extremely changeable weather situation, and with the forecast of an improvement in the weather, the organisation of Mallorca by UTMB® is working so that the runners can enjoy the event, with a series of variations.
The SDT modifies its timetable and route and will start on Saturday 2nd November at 6:00 am from the Plaça de la Constitució in Sóller and will arrive at Port de Sóller.
The SDT is now a 90 kilometre race, category 100K, with 3,400 metres of positive height gain. Finishers will get 3 Running Stones. During the next few hours, the track and cut-off times will be updated on the website.
Participants will be able to leave their life bags before the start in Sóller, the life base with assistance allowed in Bunyola will still be maintained, and they will be able to pick up their life bags at the Ultra-Trail® Village, in Port de Sóller, until two hours after the closing of the race.
Runners who have contracted the transport service will be sent an email with the new pick-up and drop-off times.
This modification is due to the declaration of orange alert by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) and the activation of the METEOBAL Special Plan, in its severity index IG1.
However, due to such an extremely changeable situation, the celebration of the SDT is still subject to weather forecasts. The rest of the races maintain their programme, although all the races are subject to the weather forecast and to the rains that are currently falling on the island of Mallorca not altering the viability of the transit of runners and emergency services along the roads.
The rest of the races will remain unchanged for the time being.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience that this situation is causing.
